From the pass, follow the now-obvious trail as it goes downhill for 0.15 mile to a fork. You turn left on a relatively new trail (not shown on the USGS map) and follow bits of tread and strategically placed cairns for 0.8 mile to an unsigned junction at a pass on the east shoulder of Antoinette Peak.

Turn left (south) at the pass and descend a steep but easy-to-follow trail into the canyon of Swift Creek. After 0.9 mile you reach a meadow-covered bench beneath Corner Peak that would make a fine campsite. Another 2 miles of often very steep, rocky downhill takes you past steep canyon walls and fine viewpoints back into forest and an unsigned but obvious junction with an unofficial trail that goes left toward the basin holding MacLeod Lake. Keep straight, soon cross Swift Creek on rickety logs, and wander gradually downhill to a signed junction with the spur trail to the Shoal Falls Trail you passed early on your first day of hiking. Go straight and descend in meadows another 0.4 mile to a junction with a closed jeep track. Turn left and in only 60 yards finish your grand adventure at the Granite Creek Trailhead.
